Artist Statement:
My name is Yves Monté, I am 54
years old and have my interest
for art and painting since my
childhood.
As a child I painted with
oil-crayons and aquarelle,
later on I did pictures and
sketches using chalk and
charcoal. In school and high
school I went the technical
course and became interested
in drawing
and design.
Some years after finishing
school I became a good friend
with, at that time one of
Sweden’s most well known
interior architect, where I
had my design education for
about 3 years.
After that period I had my own
business for 18 years,
designing and building models
for architects and Industries
as well as ship-models for the
Northern European shipyards.
Later on I had assignments
designing exhibition stands
for companies to be set up at
different exhibitions.
A few years ago I returned to
my interest for painting,
though my art became more soft
and round compared to the
technical designs I’ve done
before.
I wanted to paint women in
nude in challenging poses and
yet in a way so it won’t take
offence to no one. I use
acrylics/tempera and I use a
special technique ...
