Artist Statement:
My name is Turid Helland and I
am from Stavanger, Norway.
Since 1992 I have been living
on the beautiful island of
Chios, Greece. In 2003 I
opened an art gallery in Chios
town. In addition to my own
works I also sell other local
artist's works.
I work with oil, charcoal,
pastel and aquarelle, and I
also use straws, twigs and
other gifts from nature in my
art. I do mainly portraits and
landscapes from Chios, but
also modern and abstract
paintings.
