Johnson K. Gao, US citizen
born in Shanghai, China in
1937, is a multi-talented
“renaissance” man. He is a
scientist with more than forty
research articles and six
scientific books published. He
is the editor of two unique
books: “Polyethylene Glycol as
an Embedment for Microscopy
and Histochemistry” (edited by
Kuixiong Gao and published by
CRC Press in 1993) and
“Exploration of Aging”
(“Tansuo Shuilao” Renmin
Weisheng Chubanshe, 1983). He
is also an artist with variety
art pieces and one art album

As an artist, he published his
drawing “A Lonely Hut” (“Mao
Wu”) in a kid’s journal (“Xiao
Peng You”) when he was
thirteen years of age. While
he was at the Nanjing
University during late 1950s
he had been a student of Prof.
Li Jian-Chen, who was the top
famous artist in watercolor
painting and the author of the
book: “Skills in Watercolor
Paintings” (“Shuicaihua
Jifa”). He was known as the
father of watercolor of China.
