Artist Statement for Larry Kraus

Hi! I think stained glass art is probably the most eye catching medium there is...if it's done right! My name is Larry, and I've devoted over 10 years to making sure that my work IS done right with intense detail.
Doing it right, for me, starts with the right inspiration. My regular job takes me all over the world to countries whose culture and art provide great ideas for wonderful glass pieces. Those ideas often take form as a basic design sketched on a napkin at a restaurant or on a note pad while I'm surveying the local sights. Within a few weeks, that idea and that scribble then transforms into stained glass art that makes you stop and catch your breath.
Quality of workmanship is what makes my pieces stand out from many others you may have seen. I take great pride in knowing that all of my solder lines are smooth and true, circles are perfect, and lines are straight. I fabricate "ONE OF A KIND" designs that tend to cost slighty more than your typical "pattern book" projects. But I guarantee that you will own a truly unique, hand crafted stained glass artwork. The wood frames that hold the glass panels are also original designs; nothing is purchased "over the counter".
Why do I do this? I have a genuine passion for the art. I started out as a hobbyist and quickly came to love glass for the uniquely stunning and expressive art form it is, specially when partnered with beautiful wood.
