Artist Statement:
Generally my work explores the simbiotic meeting of the sculpted and the painted. It is a constant search for the point where intellect molds into three dimensional objects. I often return to the tradition of painting as a way to sculpt my ideas. My use of color is usually spare, flat and specific. I think of a word stripped from a line of poetry. What inspires my work is the tendancy to take away elements in order to see what is given in their place. In these terms of imaginary opposites I find that objects or ideas are brought into a state of isolated suspension. What results is the work that often resembles an unfinished kind of story. My work plays on that subtle and unfanciful transient truth, and is mostly a vehicle for the glimpse of the viewer to initiate nothing less than the awareness of thought. ...
