Artist Statement:
Although seems to be much
impressed by Brâncusi ,
Nichitean don’t allowed to be
his prey , but disciplined and
hardworking , with a passion
arised from generations of
wood men , is obsessed by the
direct contact with the
material that follows to be
subjugated to his desires .
Nichitean works with passion ,
caressing for long the fibres
of the wood until it otains
the aspect of the marble , but
reserving the heart of
vegetable being . From his
works of art feels that the
voluptuosness of the forms
turned in light , originates
the mirage of the forms wich
sips from the stateliness of
the symbol . Gavril Nichitean
uses the materia end
disciplinating them ,
determines- it to express the
apotheosis of human feelings .
The works emerged from his
chisels emanates an youth-ful
upsurge or maybe rather
expresses the dignity of a
free people , a mixture of
love and grimness assumed from
the secret feeling of the
former wood wich was witness
of so many existences ....
