Artist Statement:
Born and raised in New York
City, Garin Baker recieved his
BFA in the early 80's at Prat
Institute in addition to
several years of study at the
Arts Students League/NY.
Trained primarily from life
Garin continues in the great
spirit of Traditional Realism.
His almost 20 year career
includes nummerous 1 and group
person shows as well as an
extensive list of corporate
and private collections.
Recently Garin was fortunate
to be asked to curate a show
of New York Realism in
Scotsdale, AZ.
In The last few years Garin
has started his own buisness
called Carriage House Art
Studios. It's located on his
property in an historic 1790
carriage house and post and
beam barn in the majestic
Hudson Vally, NY. In these
studios Garin creates large
scale mural project as well as
commisioned works. Carriage
House Art Studios also offers
apprentiships to student
artist as well as artist
workshops in traditional
Painting, Drawing and
