Artist Statement:
Nomad, imagist orator,
chromatic practitioner,
symbolist, stager of embryonic
designs. Making Nepal his
stage he came back to our
seats. He brought us Andean,
Aztec, Mayan, Islamic,
Buddhist and Christian
cultures. Paints, always
painted. Arriving at a
pictorial puberty revealed in
the body. Staging and
dramatizing it in the canvas
and in the colour. After
studying basics in the studios
of Lisbon masters, he departed
for a monastery-school of Fine
Arts, dance and philosophy in
the Himalayas.
Curious about old cultures and
creeds, studious of ancestral
worlds and aesthetic
philosophies, he has brought
to his paintings the long
journey, the various
symbolisms, the androgynous
puberties that alter bodies
and minds uniting primary
colours to metals.
The blood red, physical
universe; the blue emerald,
inner earthly universe; the
saffron yellow or gold-leaf,
representing the aesthetic
universe. The gold, masculine
metal, the silver, feminine
metal. A rebellious or clean
stroke, playing with actual
lines and anti-static
movements.
Now, the white, the line, the
texture and the glue. Nothing
more. That’s everything.
Contrasting hot and cold, wood
and ceramic powder. The
graphite in the white. Or the
risk in blood. Always the line
