Artist Statement:
My work deals with the human condition, emotions and narratives. I find comfort in the figure, as it represents emotions through its movement and shape that explain stories words cannot tell. Each movement and line becomes something abstract, expressive and beautiful. By the juxtaposition of abstract and expressive mark making I narrate my own anxieties in social situations, and turn stories into pieces. I narrate these tales using lines, colour and the figure, explaining everyday situations. I am inspired by perception and how it creates a new narrative within each piece, how every work of art is a conversation between the viewer and the art work....
