Artist Statement:
I’ve always believed that all
artists create from a sense of
personal vision. Some inner
sense of style and
composition. A particular set
of likes or dislikes.
For me personally it’s a
feeling with the materials and
overall finish of a piece.
I ask the questions: Does it
inspire a questioning inside
of me? Does it make me wonder
about anything mysterious?
Does it have a feeling of the
unknown? Does it draw me to
it? Does it glow?
I think a piece of art should
be a question instead of an
answer.
I can’t speak for other
artists who create from an
intellectual sense or a
scientific sense or the drive
of publicity.
I can only make an attempt at
explaining why I personally
have the need to create. And a
need it is. I’ve taken time
away from art and felt empty.
I look at the things in the
world that inspire me to feel
certain ways and try to
incorporate them into what I
do. The things that answer my
questions.
The primitive. The reaching
into the self and attempting
to discover our personal
questions.
The symbolic. Perhaps the way
we answer our ...
