Artist Statement:
the new work which I call "fragmatizm" is the result of many years of painting and my interest-in philosophy. As a young painter I was transfixed on the idea of how real of an image could I create, the "human camera syndrome" as I now call it. As I matured as a painter, I would explore the way I feel about life's moments as they unfold to then express them with my brush. The canvas today is a diary for me, brightly colored shapes ,each one unique, coming together to form a moment in time and my feelings at that moment. The use of negative space is used to allow the shapes the space they need to interact with each other and brings them to view, just as the negative times in life are needed to show case the good . The shapes represent the experiences, the colors the mood the negative space what is between them all. We are each a part of something much greater than our self ,something wonderful, something special,a never ending mystery story, a book we can never put down. ...

| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
As a youth visiting my first museum and seeing " Aristotle contemplating the bust of Homer "by Rembrant. It is what led me to the arts and the life I would lead as a painter. The other would be the works of Pollock and the beauty of motion seen in his work. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
to make me whole, to give me purpose, to do what comes natural, like a bird that takes flight ,an artist does the same ,as all the creatures of this world ,the things we do ,the life we lead ,all are planned out well before we take our first breath. As Shakespeare wrote ,"all the worlds a stage "and we the players ,so to speak the play written the stage is set we simply act . |
