Artist Statement:
After several camping trips in
many parts of Ontario we
started to collect natural
objects we were drawn to.
This was a variety
of leaves, seeds, sticks,rocks
and plant life. We became
more aware of the simple, yet
complex art that nature
surrounds us with. Each leaf
or seed is different, yet the
same. Each rock is unique in
size, colour, shape material,
design and texture. A simple
piece of driftwood can be
inspiration for numerous
design ideas.
This brings about awareness.
We consciously started to see
the beauty of nature
everywhere. By miniking the
botony that surrounds us we
are able to immortalize these
little treasures: A new
light is shed upon maple keys
raked in the fall, a leaf to
decay is now a wonderful
neckpiece. A simple black
pebble, an object of beauty to
be admired and worn.
Our jewellery is a garden to
be recognized, appreciated and
harvested.
