Artist Statement:
Gary is an avid car
enthusiast, who has been an
active member of several motor
clubs in the North of England,
from the late 1960s right up
until the present day.
Through the years he has
regularly engaged in
organising and marshalling
numerous motor sport events,
in particular ‘Club’,
‘National’ and ‘International’
Special Stage rallies.
He spent the first two years
of his working life as a
commercial artist, employed by
a photographic advertising
agency, but a subsequent major
career change, then relegated
his artistic interests to that
of a hobby.
Retiring from ‘real’ work many
years later, Gary is now a
self employed artist, painting
‘as and when’ the mood takes
him, and producing fine art
prints for sale.
Preferring to work with
acrylic media, on canvas or
art board, Gary can depict
vehicles in realistic scenic
settings, render car style
‘portraits’, or even create
wild stylised cartoons, or
computer generated business
logos etc.
As a break from automotive
subjects, Gary occasionally
strays onto other subjects
such as aircraft. He also
enjoys painting glamorous
ladies and portraits.
Gary undertakes a limited
number of commissioned
paintings every year. All
enquiries are welcome.
