Artist Statement:
STATEMENTS OF ARTIST GLADYS
MARTINEZ NOSIGLIA:
Peruvian Painter and Sculptor,
born in Lima - Peru. I've
always been related to art
for the following reason, I
can repeat those words that I
have never forgotten:
"The scientists see the truth
in the beauty, and we artists
look at and shape the beauty
of the truth in the canvas,
sculpture. music or in
writing".
In each one of my paintings,
the daily hard reality of life
is displayed,blended between
the face of poverty and the
colorfull traditions of the
Andean Villages.
In my glass sculptors, varied
creations emerge from the
kiln, the implied fragility,
the visible flows and
strenghts, the transparency
and reflection of the colours,
exposure of the inner matter.
With the use of clay, the
colour and range fire, and
of symbol emerge each ceramic
creations from the depths of
my very fantasies and
imagination.
My productions are artistic
expressions of my inner self.
They sum up what I am and
feel, and what I see through
time....
