Artist Statement:
Gollapudi Narasimhamurthy
Artist’s Statement

I believe my Art to be a
visual landscape, of the
mental imagery, of ideas, of
feelings and of many answers
to questions unknown. I choose
to reflect ideas relating to
various ways of defining human
understanding of reality
through visual means.

My work is based on trying to
understand our environments,
our perceptions, our
questions, all in relation to,
our selves.

The visual medium of painting
(whether it is by hand or
creating images on the
computer) works wonders for
the exploration of these
ideas.
I mix ideas with intuition
plus a dose of so called
reality and or fantasy.
From what we know, I am trying
to find myself constantly by
fusing ideas and art
throughout my life and work.

The goal of my artwork is to
create a rich visual
experience that will leave one
wondering about the question
itself. Whether the questions
are valid, whether the answers
are adequate, whether even
satisfying the mind is
necessary.
For this reason a major focus
of my work is challenging by
the use of visually abstract
patterns, and non co-operating
colors, abrupt brush strokes
evoking sublime thoughts.

Movement of the mind is
necessary ...

Why Did You Become An Artist Why is the sky Blue?

Your Personal Biography Born in India to a wonderful family, my parents always encouraged individual self expression. This gift of curiosity and the free will to just wonder nurtured the Soul. One taste of the creative juice and as everyone who has experienced it knows, it is immortalizing nectar... the potion of Gods...and you are hooked forever. No one can go back to the mundane ways of being. Thank God for the Artists of this world without whom the world would be a better place but... But!...it would not be so interesting place to be!!!
This One's for all my fellow artists ...let's strive together to make this world just a wee bit better than we found it.
My name is Narasimhamurthy Gollapudi.
I was born and brought up in India and I grew up in America, after we as a family moved when I was a teenager, but I consider the whole world my home... these boundaries are only for politicians to fight over. The real people are more free...if you need any proof just look at the number of people who travel the world... they are the bold one's ..despite the stringent security measures...they brave the process because we are all One in Spirit...all differences are only on the outside...but we all feel happy and sad, and sometimes want to just get up late and lie down in bed all day watching mindless tv!
My artwork at the fundamental level tries to focus on this common aspects of being Human. I want to paint stuff that resonates with All people of the world...as long as you are a thinking , feeling human being...you will find something that will resonate with you... and that my friends is what sharing is all about....I on this side of the world and you on the other side can feel the same thing...don't you think that this is something we should celebrate ...and enjoy and cherish?
So put all your thoughts and feelings aside and just open up to the art in front of you...spend some time looking at it...relax...don't think.... let the thoughts come to you naturally...there's no need to force the thoughts and ideas...and if you don't agree with it...fine..no problem, no harm done...you just didn't like it ..that's all!!...It's that simple...you just look at another work of art. See! we unnecessarily complicate things... I certainly do!...and that's why I paint...to see what's inside Me....just curious...I may like it...or maybe not...I am not influenced by my feelings, i am curious to see it outside on the canvas... let it be...It has a right to be expressed...after all did not my parents say the same thing about me...isn't that how I got here in the first place.? Let every one Be...everything , trust me everything in this Universe is Beautiful and ugly at the same time... if we choose to see the Beauty in it...we see the beauty... it's up to our perspective.
Thanks for hearing me out. Now enjoy.
