Artist Statement:
Everything is connected, memories make who we are...These realizations provide the foundations for much of my creations. My latest works find connections amidst seemingly unrelated pieces, to which I strive to reveal an ecological awareness or just a map to my own meditations and theories. Themes of environmental strife, animal and ecological welfare and time and space passings are vastly fascinating to me right now. ...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I have been drawing pictures since I was a wee little one and I just kept it with me and decided to embark on it in adulthood as well. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2003, after completing my Associate's degree, I left the tepid sprawls of the Midwest for the mountains of northern Arizona. I completed my undergraduate degree from Prescott College in 2007 with distinction and presented at the college's Baccalaureate Ceremony. During my undergraduate career, I broke through many personal perceived limitations, and truly began to identify my direction, expression and focus. I backpacked through the desert, watched whales and swam with sea lions in Mexico and solifified my identification with the painting medium. I have since moved back to Kansas City, for I felt a purpose to be back home and prepare for the next leap in life. I am currently working to build up my portfolio, finish my teacher certification, possibly teach English in China and then go to graduate school to acquire my MFA. |
