Artist Statement:
As a child I was constantly drawing and loved it, I would get lost in drawing for hours. I find that when I am painting, drawing or working on photographs, I still get the same feeling. For many years I did not paint or draw, but expressed myself through my photography. With the encouragement of my family I started to paint and draw again. I love the “creative process” seeing what develops is the most fun for me. Seeing what different materials can do. I find texture fascinating, the way it works with paint, and the organic look and feel of it. I love creating art that is beautiful and makes me happy to look at. I find inspiration for my art in just about everything I see. One of my biggest challenges is abstract art, I absolutely love it, it’s a difficult and challenging for me, but I think that is what draws me to it. So when I work on a piece and achieve what I was working for, it’s a great feeling. I am starting to experiment with Photoshop, and I love what I can do with it. But I still feel that I need ...
