Artist Susan Weldert formed
goodearthstudio.com to market
her original clay sculpture.
"Soon, I was taking custom
orders to create wedding cake
toppers.
I sculpt people and their pets
in porcelain clay, so the
transition into a bride and
groom for use as a caketopper
was an obvious one.
Using the customer's photos, I
am often asked to create a
look-alike figurine that
features the unique hobbies,
religion, or ethnic background
of the bride and groom."
Each figurine is a completely
handmade, handpainted original
work of art.
