Gordon was sustained by regular Life Drawing groups in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, London and Thailand. His earlier abstract action paintings with figurative and textural themes have led to more classical figurative work, conjured firectly from memory. Personas assert themselves and their current mood and personality in what seem to be a frozen moment of reflection, before some action takes place.
