Artist Statement:
Initially I worked in various
fields of sculpture, both
landscape and
monumental-decorative. However
most of the time, I now
dedicate to creating small
sculptures or simply speaking,
desk sculptures.
I have created a series of
sculpture compositions
depicting heroes of literary
works of prominent European
writers. Among them there are
Gulliver, Romeo and Juliet,
Don Quixote, and Thumbolina.
My work on every composition
is prolonged and I stop only
after the images that I
intended to present in the
plastics began, in my eyes, to
start living their own life.
My task as a sculptor was to
transmit the idea of the hero
image in the plastics: For
example,Thumbolina as a thin
sprout on a huge flower or on
top of a colossal beetle,
Gulliver is a tiny weak little
man upon finding himself among
the giants....
