Artist Statement:
Art, to me, is a way of release and experimentation. I have always been drawn to the non-objective and expressionistic styles of painting, mainly for the textures and powerful content. For the most part, I use brushes for the initial image, and finish up with a painter's knife to add texture and style. I have used oil exclusively, but lately I have experimented with acrylics and found them to be just as enjoyable. I also have extensively employed collage techniques to study background textures, and to a small extent, eye flow. My paintings range from small (8"x10") to very large (4' x 8'), and even an acrylic painting on a mirror.
Painting though is not the only form of art I have tried my hand at. I also create images using programs on the computer. Each image is a collage of pictures found various places on the internet as well as personally scanned. I also searched for quotes to sum up the content of each collage for even greater meaning.
