Artist Statement for Gwenn Carver
|
|
|
Nature studies, landscapes, and figurative work constitute the majority of my work in oil. Lately I have been working on a series I call Wabi Sabi, the Japanese concept of beauty in decay; studies of seed pods, leaves, and dried things.
I studied for my B.A. in Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego. There I developed a contemporary painting style and a love of oil painting in particular. I enjoy plein air painting as well.
