Artist Statement:
I am fascinated with capturing
the vivid hues of nature from
my travels. The interplay of
light with the bold and subtle
colors of nature reflects my
love of diversity on all
levels. My work is a release
of the flamboyant and dramatic
interior that belies the
reserved aloof exterior.
Contrasts are imperative and
necessary for motivation in
generating less than ordinary
works of art. Sameness breeds
tedium in all life’s
expressions. My desire is to
thrill and excite by the clash
of color. Mosaics are surface
decoration defined by color
and texture of which one
cannot have engaging work. I
have defined my work and life
by this principle. My art at
times is a skylight into my
dreams and a cascading step
into my innermost thoughts.
Art originates and is
ultimately fashioned from the
creators soul. Art and its
numerous forms have been an
integral part of my existence
as far back as I can recall.
Creating mosaic art has become
a natural extension of my
existence, I cannot conceive
of my life without an artistic
diversion or journey.
