Artist Statement:
My paintings are the product of my conscious and unconscious dreams as well as hopes. My art is centered around human beings and their existence, searching for the meaning of epic affairs such as love, war, happiness and suffering. Contradictions in life such as: killing people in the name of freedom, destroying nature in the name of development and prosperity, and throwing children out of schools in the name of discipline fascinate me. The human being is still largely an enigma.
Opening a window through my art to the other side of the isle to reconstruct and correct misconceptions is a hope I struggle to achieve. Creating a painting is a process that takes energy, knowledge and inspiration.
I use acrylic paint, canvas, fabrics, photographs and other materials to create my art. Deciding what materials I will use in a new piece of art is totally planned but their application is absolutely random. It is always my intention to redefine beauty through colors, figures and formations. My art is a quest to find meaning in the seemingly random events that shape our lives. It is my outlet in the pursuit of embracing the essence of life....
