Artist Statement:
My art revolves predominately around the subjects of the human form, the natural and human-made environment, and the human condition, with these themes explored both independently, and inter-relatedly within my work.
I aim to create imagery that moves other people and/or myself, to illicit some sort of response from the viewer. I’d prefer any response to none at all, to indifference, as I believe people predominately view and create artwork to ultimately be affected by it, in some way.
Major influences on my artwork have included the artists Bosch, Van Gogh, Picasso, Whiteley, and Rauschenberg, many of the art teahers I have studied under, a few artist friends, the work of my son, and my partner, the word artist Kathleen Morgan.
