Artist Statement:
From the moment she could hold a crayon in her hand, there hasn't been a time in K. Michael Crawford's life when she hasn't been drawing and creating large number of whimsical and quirky characters...all whom dwell in a magical land within her enchanted imagination.
Her characters take a look at the whimsical and humorous side of life. Her latest series "Windows" dwells into the idea or thought of what is behind the other side of the window or door of a building. Do we get an accurate idea of who the person really is by only seeing them from their door of window?
Since her first book "Timbo and the Butterfly" was published, she has shared her artistry in many books, telling stories old and new--most recently "Chicken Little", "Gifted & Talented Story Starters: Mysteries", "The Case of the Missing Math Teacher", "Miss Panda in England", "Miss Panda in China", Miss Panda in Egypt", and "The Prince of Perfect". Her drawings also lend a sense of whimsy to the covers of "Teaching Art with Books Kids Love" and "Storybooks for Tough Times".
