Artist Statement:
With his works, Heinz Lehninger neither wishes to clearly depict nor to merely describe something. He does not want to analyze or postulate. His works are not finished patterns, clichés or models by which one could get an idea about the state of society. Rather, they are stories in which something decisive is yet to happen. Photographs of Real Life to be completed by the beholder's emotional input.
The end of Heinz Lehninger's stories will only be written by persons contributing their thoughts, their deep emotions, their innermost fears and wishes. What's exciting about this is that you never know what's going to happen. Because once the dialogue of emotions has been started it can be neither stopped nor controlled.
To startle, to touch, to bring to light hidden things, that is what Heinz Lehninger wants. Thus, when encountering his pictures, you may quite expect to discover yourself.
