Artist Statement:
The language of sculpture
Sculpture for me has endless posibilities of expression, therefore “ the language of sculpture “ wich I use is very diverse wether it is by form (abstract, conceptual or figurative) or by material. Being born in the small village of Ghida ,where I spent all of my childhood , I was in permanent contact with nature and this way of life had a profound efect on my sculpture.
One of my main themes is the permanent conection of man and nature, of our direct contact with the earth without any inetrmediaries. This can be found in my “Sunshine in Ghida” sculpture, wich represents a resin cast of the dirt road of Ghida village, in wich the traces that the paysans and their animals were leaving while going in the morning to work on their land.
Another conceptual work is the “ Being “ sculpture, wich represents man’s struggle with its existence and the fact that through the course of our life we must ascend an invisibile latter.
The theme of ascension is also present in the work entitled “ Path of the Righteousness “.
