Artist Statement for Heidi Vaught
|
|
|
Heidi lives and works in New York, from an early age her passion has been art in all forms from photography to painting. Heidi is an artist whose dedication reflects in her work. She graduated from Cazenovia College where she studied art and design. Currently her works can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the lower 48 state and Canada.
The essence of her work can be found in sinuous curves and free flowing lines. Nature is the main inspiration for the artist, particularly the plant world. Flowers, stems and leaves are chosen for their curving silhouettes. Other pieces inspired, from the curves of the female body, particularly when combined with long, loose, flowing hair, which could be arranged in a fantasy of curls and waves. The abstract depictions of natural forms and shapes evoke a fluid movement and organic vitality,rejecting the order of straight lines and right angles in favor of a more natural free movement.The curving, flowing lines of each piece brings with them a feeling of airy lightness, grace and freedom.
