Artist Statement for Ian Mcandrew
|
|
|
Ian Mcandrew is a 59 year old visual artist. While in his twenties and early thirties he attended various art schools including the Ontario College of Art and Design. He exhibited in outdoor shows such as the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition and had one man and shared gallery exhibitions. He then dropped out of the art world for many years while he earned a living. However, he never stopped painting and learning about painting in his spare time. His fascination is with Light and his love is Landscape, flowers and horses. In 2004 he became a partner in A Place to Paint on Danforth Avenue in Toronto. A Place to Paint is a gallery/studio/storefront/classroom open to the public.
