| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to metal. Growing up in the lush countryside of Burgundy, France on my family's 500 year old estate, I was first inspired to give form to my creations, as if an integral part of nature, first using a torch or forge, then with the modern tool, the plasma-cutter. Everything has beauty if you choose to see it. I want to incorporate that beauty into my work. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I need to work with my hands, to create. Metal working is dirty, tiring and dangerous and frankly I like it that way.

| Your Personal Biography |
Born in 951 in the Burgundy region of France, I combine European and American craftsmanship and influence. My pieces are created to please the soul as well as the eye. I create many of my works by first sketching the design on metal, then freeing the form with a plasma cutter.
My work is quite diverse, ranging from intensely forged tables inspired by the temples of Angkor Wat to wall art as well as home and garden sculptures of primitive or botanical influence. Many of my works adorn homes and gardens as well as the numerous commissioned works for businesses, pubic buildings and squares throughout both the US and Europe.
I met my wife, Mary at my family's B & B in the late 1970's. Over the last 25 years we have divided our time between Burgundy and southern California. During this time we joyfully adopted our two children from Cambodia.
While keeping our home and studio in Burgundy, I continue to expand and develop my artistry in California. My journey continues.... |
