Artist Statement:
I have now Been painting
fulltime since 1989.I am a non
prolific Artist in that I
choose to spend a lot of time
with each new creation.On
average I will spend between
3-5 months on a single piece
of artwork.Many of my works
are done with paint knives and
are very multi layered.This
adds to the lenght of time to
complete because of the drying
time I allow for in between
layers.The Namaqualand series
best demonstrates this
technique.The end result is
heavily textured and gives a
rather 3 dimensional quality
to the work once completed.The
larger painting have taken up
to 2 years to finish. ...
