Artist Statement:
Her love for art flourished as
she grew up in a home with a
German heritage, where art was
a way of life. In 1989, she
pursued her advanced education
in Interior Design at the
University Taller5 of Bogota,
Colombia. It was her strong
passion for art that inspired
her desire to do extensive
research and experiment with
different painting techniques
on canvas. She was specially
intrigued by the techniques of
the old master painters whose
subjects focused on religious,
ecclesiastic and Christian
art.
In 1992, Iveth's fascination
with oold fine art was the
reason she acquired the
knoledge and the skills of the
art of restoration. Her
encounter witn numerous oold
works of art nurtured the
dynamic and mysterious element
that is now present in her own
paintings.Without
concentrating on a single
theme, her current paintings
revolve around the mystical
powers of the human form and
rhythms. Her tendency is to
show a total harmony between
figure and background; to
provoke the viewer's power of
imagination.
It is the style of her
painting that creates the
unmistakable relationship in
her different works of art.
