Artist Statement for Jackie Maundrell-Hall
I love the play of light in the natural landscape.
My free and rapid brush work expresses a harmony with scenes which are timeless, appearing as renewed ever changing shining moments in nature’s work, powerful and independent with an existence and life force unaffected by humanity.”
Jackie Maundrell-Hall ( formerly Jackie Gluschke ) began drawing and painting as a child and continued with enthusiasm through school, specialising in art at teacher’s Training College in Exmouth. She has taught in primary schools in England and Australia, enjoying working with children in the art field.
In recent years she has painted seriously in pastel and in oils. She is inspired by the play of light on the landscape, observed originally in Cornwall, and more recently in Scotland, the Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire and the countryside near Bath.
Jackie exhibits widely in the West Country and also with two groups, Trinity (photographic, oil, and ceramic artists) and Hidden Horizons (painters and ceramicists). Jackie's paintings are in collections in Canada, Australia, Ireland and the UK. She sells paintings privately and also through exhibitions and galleries.
Commissions are considered in pastel and oil.
