Artist Statement for Jackson Tarver
|
|
|
Jackson Duval Tarver has had a long-standing appreciation for Art in its many forms. He began his formal training in Art at Brookhaven Community College in 1994, and a few years later, earned an Associate of Arts degree. He participated in art exhibitions at Brookhaven resulting in requests for his paintings.
Jack specializes in visual effects, textures, and patterns on paper and other textured media. These effects can be read by the conscious and unconscious mind without being filtered by the language of interpretation. Whatever the medium, his works demonstrate a vivid and vibrant use of color. The paintings are striking and completely unique to the artist, intimately drawing viewers into a “vision of fantasy” away from the ordinary and mundane.
