Artist Statement:
Ever since I can remember I
have had a fascination for the
sea and its surroundings.
Long walks on the beach,
especially after a storm,
would lead to a discovery of
shells, seaweeds, sea and
plant life. The beach would
be deserted and the seagulls
crying in the sky. It is
these moments that I have
tried to reflect in many of my
paintings. Moments of mood
from the sea, stormy days and
calm days, sunny days while
walking around the shore and
rocks.
The grandeur of mountains, the
whiteness of the snow, and the
green lush forests of New
Zealand are superb subjects
for painting. New Zealand has
some of the most beautiful and
wildest landscapes in the
world and much of it is
reflected in my art.
I believe that to pour a
little of your soul into each
art work creates a
masterpiece.
