Artist Statement:
Born in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, Giacomo
developed a keen interest in
art as a teenager – especially
those of the masters Leonardo
da Vinci, Michaelangelo and of
Vincent Van Gogh whose
paintings he copied with ardor
in his youth. Also being a
lover of photography, he
studied photography at the
University of Arts in
Philadelphia. He later
established a portrait
photography business employing
several photographers while
engaging in his personal hobby
of photography at every
opportunity.
His quest for adventure has
taken him to live in and
explore many countries
including Italy, Japan, China,
Laos, Burma, Singapore and
Thailand and he has journeyed
extensively throughout Europe
and Southeast Asia. The
combination of these
experiences has given Giacomo
a rich background of ideas to
work with.
The photographs that he takes
during his travels abroad (or
his neighborhood walks) are
the subjects for all of his
paintings. His computer is
his canvas and with his mouse
at his fingertips, he accesses
his many brushes and his
palette of endless colors. He
creates his intriguing
landscapes, still-lifes,
abstracts with beautiful and
vivid colors.
