Welcome to James Young's Portfolio. Browse James Young's body of work: My paintings are about light and structure. My subject is about conservation. I am drawn to the landscape from a combination of childhood nostalgia and an adult preoccupation with wanting to preserve it. Working in the nativist tradition, I apply my appreciation of my subject matter directly to the formation of my work. This insight allows me to communicate a true version of what I see. My interpretation of the landscape is centralized around an awareness of natural landscape versus that which is man made and created for extraneous reasons.
