Artist Statement:
Living in Richmond, VA is sometimes quite difficult. However, it is in this city that I have chosen to mainfest the paintings and sculptures that redefine my spirit. In May of 2003 I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture. Since that time I have been focusing my time on creating paintings in the preferred medium of oil. My style ranges from modern to traditional & decorative to conceptual. This style flows over to my sculptures as well, which have been created in such diverse mediums including but not limited to oak, cedar, poplar, glass, caulk, plaster, soapstone, polyester resin, chicken wire, wax, latex, copper, bronze, aluminum, sheet metal, paper, projected digital art, fabrics such as burlap and satin, twine, clay, and found objects. My knowledge of materials is vast, but not limitless, as I am constantly striving to expand it's walls. I have a deep appreciation for most every form of art, as well as a well-built knowledge of art history. Though I'm a small girl,I carry a drive that is monstorous and one that can only be obtained by a devoted surrend to the passion art can create...
