I love being outdoors, that's
why I paint "en plein air".
This is a French phrase and it
means "in the open air". So
most of my paintings are
created outdoors in the midst
of the natural world under the
sun and sometimes in the rain!

A Year at Hammonasset - Solo Show at the Gallery at 85 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT. A landscape series completed over the course of a year capturing the fascinating changes in seasons, light and weather at Hammonasset State Park in Connecticut. Many pieces are field studies done en plein air, other larger works are studio pieces completed from pochades, field notes and studies done on location. Hammonasset State Park is located in Madison along the beautiful Connecticut shoreline. It features beachfront along the Long Island Sound, rocky moraines deposited by melting glaciers thousands of years ago, tidal flats, salt marsh, dunes and woods. This rich and diverse environment is home to many types of wildlife and is one of the treasures of Connecticut. Come and see this natural jewel through the eyes of an artist.
