| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I like the creativity of painting and of producing something that will last after I am gone. I was always drawing as a kid, but moved away from art when I went to university to study science and business. I came back to art when my husband and I moved to Germany and I could not get a work permit. Finally, I had the time to learn to paint! I taught myself initially and then went to a small art school in the city of Cologne. When I am painting, I am in my own world and time and physical space lose all meaning. I can paint for hours and it seems like only a few minutes have passed. |

| Your Personal Biography |
Jane Pearson Chacko, born in Kingston, Canada in 1966, comes from an artistically talented family and as a child spent much of her free time drawing and painting. She took several art classes in high school, where her talent was recognized. She became an artist, however, relatively late in life after initially studying science and business and working for several years in Canada, the USA, Japan and Germany.
It was in Germany that she developed her painting from a hobby into a semi -profession. Although she has painted with watercolours and oils, her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas. She particularly enjoys working with the Japanese spatula. While many artists have one specific style, Jane is always experimenting and developing new styles.
She currently resides in Kuwait, where she has a painting at the Museum of Modern Art. Her work can be found in private collections in eight different countries around the world.
