| Your Personal Biography |
Jason Langley currently lives and works in the New Orleans area. His work engages a variety of media including photography, sculpture, printmaking, and painting. He is constantly looking for new ways to explore the many photographic techniques and processes using an ever-expanding arsenal of toy and antique cameras, including many pinhole and homemade cameras.
He combines his love of travel and his love of photography, frequently taking extended trips to various locations around the world with many cameras in tow. He has traveled extensively in Europe, and has lived in France, Spain, and the Netherlands for various periods of time. He has also traveled to Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico, and visited 26 of the National Parks in the United States.
His primary subject matter is landscapes, and he enjoys photographing at night, often using timed or extended exposures to capture his subject. Photography is often considered a medium of instants; however by using long exposures he is able to record many seconds or even several minutes in a single frame.
