I enjoy and practice both drawing and acrylic painting as my artistic release.
I draw mostly from life, in a classical manner, using charcoal and other earthen materials. I've been lucky to work with some very talented artists and instructors. This has formed the basis of my appreciation of the art process, in general, and the dedication and effort required to see a drawing to completion. Drawing the figure is a never-ending challenge and I expect that I will never fully understand all there is to know about this subject. That’s pretty damn cool to know.
I like to paint somewhat realistic, hopefully satirical and usually surreal subject matter. People - as subject matter - by nature, tend to sate my artistic needs. Not a sympathy laugh. Not a laugh of embarrassment, pity or anger. More of a 'what the fuh??' laugh. A laugh that hopefully stays with the viewer long after he or she has moved ...
