Artist Statement:
justin degarmo
...was born in upstate New York, and raised in southern California, Washington DC, & Okinawa, Japan. He was educated at the Ringling School of Art & Design (received a BFA in illustration). His paintings can be found in various issues of CMYK Magazine, and the 2003 RSAD catalogue/website. Prior to his career in illustration, Justin spent several years working food service, and retail type jobs. He was also a records clerk in a law firm, and a maintenance boy in a cup factory. He even sold his soul for a while as a circus monkey, designing decorative art (under the psuedonym, Justin 'Roth') for Phoenix Art Group. The young, misguided DeGarmo currently freelances from his studio in AZ, and frequently shows work at Art One Gallery (in Scottsdale).
Selected clients: The Phoenix New Times, Random House Publishing, Sertoma International, Office of the Attourney General (AZ), and Art One Gallery, Inc. (Scottsdale, AZ & Zurich, Switzerland)
