Whereas the horizon darkens, whereas the ugliness and the cacophony threaten ceaselessly to triumph, it is a creed which no decline would know how to threaten. This faith means that the artistic commitment - and it is a question in the particular case of a real passion in the biblical sense - has to pass on a spiritual heritage of works which assumes the whole world with the man inside.
The act to create as "material" to give " to see, to think " in a whole which does not think in itself but which lets smooth the shadow of a past which does not pass. Imagine the past and the urgency of a resurrection that plunge very far its roots - archaism, primitiveness, mythology - to create an original term in a movement which extends to an unknown territory.
During years, I refrained, and when I finally decided, the question to arose from what I could make. The quasi-absolute primate of volcanic sand as material : eternal stony beads and full of strength, says the inexorable flight of time, the threat of swallowing up, which goes back up, which erases, scrapes, insinuates itself, invites itself everywhere – stolen escarbilles from the circles of the years which go. This black, omnipresent material fixed in a balance where the unfinished, suspended figures, without base, are seen just like the hourglass in one goes and comes of a constant revival. The necessity of black which returns on the front in full light what we prefer to forget: it is to be in the disturbing, but also in the truth, the complex, the generous and especially the black which opens on the fathomless mystery of things, the brilliant black.
Finally to conclude the presentation, it must be said also that this is the work of two creators: " companions of works " where the literary quest of the one marries the plastic search of the other one to enrich, deepen and transform the field of experiment. Then each’s adventure also becomes that of its progress through the mystery of the other one’s work. Remains images and the world as words.
