Artist Statement for Jeffrey Greenwood

In my first competition North Light Books I won an Honorable mention. My paintings are in collections in England, Germany, and Canada. In the last year I have been producing more Abstract works using mixtures of varying amounts of iridescent acrylic mediums. These allow slight color changes depending on the source of light. The way I use my brushes to apply paint thickly gives a 3D effect and creates shadows adding depth and interest to my usually very colorful creations.
I have been told That I have the gift of finding the light in my Portrait subjects and then showing this to the viewer. That is something I always hope to achieve.
