Statement as an artist:
Each painting carefully reflects life in different facets - visualising, without sacrifice, the unseen, untold messages between every stroke of the brush. Love for people carefully expressed in the eyes of different characters; faces portraying emotions behind forgotten history.
Never to be caught in a rut of monotonous colours, shapes or genres - variety in all aspects ensures freshness and surprise to the viewer. An added dimension of hovering between abstract and reality, the line in between - sometimes vague, or non-existent, the boundaries of life traversable, knowing that sadness coexists with joy, and that loss yields to birth and renewal.
For me, dark, sharp, dramatic colours inspire intrigue while down toned colours and lines reflect life in a more sincere manner. The careful fusion of pigment and the variety of topics in my paintings are important ways not only to authenticate my work, but to acknowledge and recognize the value of different people and their culture. A painting well done binds ethnic groups together. Its strength is revealed by the afflictions of humanity.
Because the world cannot be viewed in absolute terms, greater reality is depicted through everyday objects and themes. A vibrant rebellion is unleashed against ...

ABOUT ME
---------------------------------------
I grew up in the Free State, South Africa; have a brother and a sister. During school years I took up classical music, speech and art. After matric I started working and took evening classes in art. I had a wonderful private tutor, teaching me all about perspective, technique and how to use different media. I then enrolled for a course in Graphic design in Cape Town.
During later years my husband and I moved to Gauteng where we settled.
Although I started art, speech and music lessons in early primary school, it was not until much later before I could involve myself into any God given talents.
With little time for myself having a full time career and seven children to raise, I dedicated my life to real estate for many years.
Now that the children have grown up I can spend more time painting and working on exhibitions.
