| Your Personal Biography |
I started painting at the age of 3. My mother taught painting classes through out my childhood. She painted seascapes, flowers and still life objects and I would be right on her heels painting whatever it was that she was teaching. I loved it.
I fell in love with oils early because I could blend them so easily and because the richness of the colors fascinated me. Come time for college I knew I would get an Art degree.... and I did.
For the past couple of years my young son has been battling stage 4 cancer. He has taught me so much about life and how to live that I find it shows up in my art. The colors are richer than ever before and I take more risks with texture. Life is short. I have learned to be present everyday and enjoy today.
Abstract painting is where I found my passion. Maybe I painted one too many sets of mums growing up but whatever the reason I stay mainly in the abstract at this time. I put scriptures into the gesso of every canvas. I believe that a life lived in Gods Will is the only life worth living. |
