Exploring Generations in the First Art Show of 2008-2009
season at Derryfeild's Lyceum Gallery,Manchester NH

For Immediate release
6/20/2008
The Derryfield School’s first exhibit of the 2008-2009 school year in the Lyceum Gallery and Sculpture Garden is GENERATIONS:Jenny Page and John M. Weidman - A Father and Daughter. The show will be open August 30 - October 17, with a closing reception for the artists on Friday, October 17. Please include this show on your calendars.

GENERATIONS is a show of work by a father and his daughter. Both are experienced artists who have made an impact on art in New England and beyond. It is exciting to have them show together. The relationship between their work is a revealing dialog between two very different generations. Both Jenny and John are determined to address a sense of humanity in their work, but they use very different media to reveal their role in this world.

Posted By: DUNE PATTEN Date: 1/20/2005 9:09:26 AM Summary: Blanket of Love
Full Text: The texture of the material in this painting reminded me of burlap; posibly sackcloth. Both textures gives me a feeling of spiritual elation. Sackcloth, for me, representing the 'crying out in the wilderness' of the saints; particularly, John the Baptist. And the added text is marvelous! Bravo! Dune Patten, artist

HI Jenny!
You sure are prolific. I liked pieces in each category. I liked especially your charcoals, the painting "Bound"(renamed'dreams are true while they last"), the painting "Quince", plus many others. You're good - I hope you are selling. Sorry about the stolen work. Best regards, Al M.-artist-Newburyport,MA
Jenny,
I recently attended your “Intro to Color” workshop at the Essex Art Center. As a mosaic and stained glass artist I consider color to be the most important aspect of my art. Though your workshop is to teach artists how to mix oils and acrylics, I benefited immensely. I have a clearer understanding of value, hue and chroma. The exercises we completed will be used as color references with future work. My past experience with color has taught me there is much to know. This workshop has given me more confidence. Thank your for sharing your knowledge. I enjoyed your class. I enjoyed your company as well as the company of the other students. It was a fun time. Thank you,
Pam Davis-Artist-Teacher-North Andover, MA
