Artist Statement:
Abstract, flowing and
colorful, most of my sculpture
is carved from stones I quarry
myself in the North Cascades:
yellow marble, green
serpentine, and a range of
colored dolomites. I use a
direct carving technique,
guided only by my imagination
and the beauty of the stone.
Twenty-six years ago, I began
sculpting making it my
profession twelve years ago.
When not collecting stones for
my next sculpture or giving
field lectures on geology, I
am at home caving at my remote
Chillowist Valley studio near
the Cascade Mountains of
Eastern Washington.
